“I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel…”
1 Corinthians 9:22b-23a
We are very lucky to have a designated chapel in school. Sacred space is about intentionality, in our chapel we have an altar with candles and designated prayer corners to St Joseph, Our Lady and St Therese of Lisieux. These corners are designed for the children to share their thoughts, prayers and intentions.
Sometimes the hustle and bustle of school life creates a spiritual need for quiet and contemplation. We have meditative chapel services around break and lunchtime and other times when the school community might need to find some peace, the chapel is available for them to come and reflect.
There is a reason Jesus instructed us to “come as a child.” Children worship with abandon and have a faith that is contagious. Each week we gather to praise and learn about our great God and His plans for us. Our teachers and children look forward to worshipping together, and often parents will join in the celebration. Each week we have classes in the chapel to experience a prayerfully planned liturgy around a theme intended to lead our children into an encounter with Jesus. Our children are reminded weekly of His love for them and His plan for their future. Our prayer is for our children to fall in love with Jesus during their time at school and to truly impact the world for Jesus Christ.
