We have been awarded £7,000 towards our continued playground development and our role model children from each class have been tasked with choosing new additional playground equipment. They chose a rope tunnel, climbing steps for EYFS, balance beams and a wobble bridge. These have now been installed and look amazing! Well done to all involved in the choosing!
Learning through landscapes
Last year we were awarded £1500 from the Learning through landscapes charity who seek to promote the use of outdoor areas to support the curriculum. We used this money to train staff on den building and forest school skills. We also purchased den building kits, bug hotels and waterproof clothing.
Edina Science trust
The Edina Science trust has supported us for the last three years and we have used the £600 we received each year to purchase four science experiment kits, pay for the Lab Rascals workshop on slime and this coming year it will be used to support our outdoor learning in EYFS.
Ernest Cook Trust
The Ernest Cook Trust supported us through the provision of £500 which we have used to buy waterproofs and wellies along with a welly store to support the development of our Forest school provision.
Institute of Physics
This year the Institute of Physics have awarded us with a grant of £600 to support the 'stargazers' topic in year five. We will be using this funding to pay for an observatory visit for the children, a planetarium visit to school and the purchase of telescopes.
