School Games Mark
The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels.
The Sainsbury’s School Games is a platform which provides young people with the opportunity to take part in competitive school sport. The Games were designed to build on the excitement of London 2012 to motivate and inspire young people to engage with as much sport as possible.
We are SILVER!
We are so excited to tell you that we have achieved the SILVER Mark Award again for 2017/18 academic year.
Special thanks to all the children and staff involved in helping us to achieve this award. We really are going for GOLD this year.
We are very proud to be able to say that St Joseph’s achieved the silver award of the School Games Mark criteria in P.E at the end of the summer term. Children were encouraged to take part in as many competitions as possible and attend as many lunchtime and afterschool clubs as they can. We have listened to the children’s views and opinions about what provision we can provide to them in regards to P.E and sports. This level of collaboration will continue this year as again children’s voices will be heard and acted upon.
Thank you to all of the staff, children and parents of children who have supported us in this journey to reaching our goal.
Our new goal is to achieve gold over the next year or two.
