This school year, we'll be working towards the Football Association's vision who are collaborating with the Youth Sport Trust and schools in a national scheme to give better opportunities and encourage more young girls to participate in our nation's most loved game.

Miss Fuller is delivering the FA Shooting Stars football coaching for girls, inspired by Disney's Guardians of the Galaxy. The girls work through their mission manuals, having lots of fun as they grow in confidence with the game.

Sports Leaders

This year Mr Dobbs from the School Sports Partnership came into school to work with Y5 children.  He worked with them over 4 lunchtimes to train them to be sports leaders next year.  They worked on different skills in leading others and supporting them to try new activities. They also discussed how to lead a healthy lifestyle and the different factors involved in leading and running sessions. Mr Dobbs was very impressed with their enthusiasm and dedication.

Cricket Coaching

We are excited to announce that as part of our commitment to providing a minimum of 2 hours per week PE during the week for children we have Lincolnshire Cricket coming into to school every Tuesday from half-term to the end of term to provide cricket coaching to Year 4 and Year 6. We hope that this will encourage children to look at sports outside of school as well as inside.

PE apprentice

We are very excited to welcome James Woodward to our team as our PE apprentice. He will support Mrs McCullagh in the PE Coordinator role and support the teaching of PE lessons. He will run activities during playtime and lunchtime and will run a range of afterschool clubs for the children.

Supporting Local Champions - Inspire TCI

The current Year 6 entered a competition in school. They had to write letters to say why our school should be chosen to receive £500 to spend on sports equipment.

We won the competition.

Mike Burton from TCI Inspire came to make the presentation. Here we are when we had been presented with our cheque.
